started with snowboarding, because filming snowboarding is what introduced me to film making. Pretty soon I was doing more filming than snowboarding, and I could do that all year long. I filmed whatever interested me and soon found another passion for hiking and nature photography. Eventually I went to school at Northern Michigan University in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. I was hiking almost every day and I always had my camera with me. The camera became my vehicle to push me into new territory. There was always somewhere new to explore and photograph. The photography pushed me further into the wilderness, and the wilderness inspired me to capture it.

After college I went on my first long-distance hike. It took 3 months to complete the 1,200 mile long Pacific Northwest Trail. That hike culminated in my first self-produced documentary called "A Sense of Direction". Spending that much uninterrupted time in the wilderness totally changed my perspective on life. I see things through the lens of the wilderness. My outdoor films are all flavored by this nature inspired philosophy now.

I have worked as a full-time as a videographer and editor since about 2015. On top of that I always have a personal project in the works too.
